Bioarchaeology Research centre of Vilnius University
The Bioarchaeology Research Centre of Vilnius University carries out research on ecofactual material, with a particular focus on the analysis of macrobotanical and osteological material. The Centre has three laboratories: anthropology, archaeobotany and zooarchaeology, where research is carried out to the highest professional standards.
The Centre provides open access services to Lithuanian and foreign researchers, allowing them to study the material it holds. Students have the opportunity to learn practical bioarchaeology skills, carry out research and participate in commissioned projects. The Archaeobotany Laboratory is headed by Prof. Giedrė Motuzaitė Matuzevičiūtė Keen, and the Zooarchaeology Laboratory by Dr. Giedrė Piličiauskienė.
